Hi all,
Found these numbers on a valve today. 8243 VS 9313-312-4-10 and 8246 VP 8044-662-2-12. They are 3 port valves to allow the pump a bypass or mix the supply and return on a hot water system.
Need to know who made them?
Thanks

Valve
Looks like a Seibe valve number to me.
I'm currently investigating valves with similar numbers.
Check with Invensys Building Systems oe Seibe.

Siebe, Invensys, Barber-Coleman
These are Siebe or Invensys or Barber-Coleman (the original company). The numbers indicate the following (though I'm not sure what the 8243 and 8246 indicate):
VS 9313-312-4-10:
V = Valve
S = Barber-Coleman System 8000, 2-15 Vdc actuator
(B = for valve body only, no actuator)
9 = 9000 series
31 = 3-way mixing
3 = Screwed or flanged end fitting
312 = Actuator code = MP-471-600, stem up normal position, 120V, 50VA, with aux. switch
4 = pattern code of valve body = straightway
10 = Size = 1 1/2"...also has a cooresponding Cv
---------------------------------------------------------
VP 8044-662-2-12: I am checking with the warehouse manager at my old company on this second one...we represented and installed Barber-Coleman. My book (Siebe publication #F-26094, Valve Selection Guide) doesn't have an 8000 series or a 662 actuator code, but I'm sure he can find them. SEE EDIT below.
V = Valve
P = Multiple Electric/Electronic Input Actuators
8 =(??)
04 =(??)
4 = Union sweat end fitting
662 = Actuator code = (??)
2 = pattern code of valve body = globe flanged, high pressure steam
12 = Size = 2 1/2"...also has a cooresponding Cv
----------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Here is what my pal Jake said about the 8000 valve above....
8000 series is the new version of the old 9000 series flanged valves, but not sure what the 04 means...probably valve body type.
Actuator 662 is a MP-471-600, gear train actuator
Also, There is not a new Valve Selection Guide from TAC yet.

Thanks
Thanks JJ
My boss ordered the actuator today. This will let me know how the valve should work properly!
Can another brand of actuator be installed on the valve? The vs 9313-312-4-10 has a Johnson Controls actuator on it-M9216-GGA-2. I printed out the install instructions for that one.
