Any Ideas?

A few months ago(Aug), I installed a TT Solo 110/Weil McLain Ultra+40 indirect. My reasons for a W/M indirect were supply related, and I know they are made by TT anyway.<BR>At first things were fine,,then(Nov), the customer complained about not enough HW,,he said "if I run the faucet at the KS to make the boiler start first, then its OK until the next morning."<BR>So I automatically assumed it was in the tank sensor,, after waiting almost 4 weeks from my supplier, I finally got one!<BR>So I changed-it just before Xmas, hoping this was solved, I touched base yesterday,,and the prob is STILL there! Is it some kind of <i>internal tank</i> circulation issue?<BR>What am I missing?<BR><BR>Dave

    Dip tube????

Just a thought.. never had one fail on an Ultra. Could check it by seeing how much water you can siphon out of the tank.I assume that the boiler and circ. pump are performing okay???

check for a mixing valve passing cold into the hot water line

Turn off the outlet from the indirect so there is no hot water supplied t the house, and turn on a hot water tap.

If there is water pressure, a mixing valve is bleeding cold into the hot water system. If you are testing try to use a faucet with seperate hot and cold taps. If you cannot, then you must repeat at a second tap in case the one you tested is at fault.

If it is a mixing valve problem, then turn off the cold feed to each mixing tap until the flow stops, that tap / valve is the problem.

Taco makes a great solution to the problem.

Bronze body with a timer . throw a clack On switch on the line,

    done deal .

it comes off as anticipated demand and prioritization.
