    Happy New Year

A happy new year to everyone.

They're telling us it'll be a tough one this side of the pond. But, our order book is still quite full, with lots of new contruction. However, fuel & copper tube is getting very silly price wise.
Home loans are tougher to get! Well, what's new eh? They were giving out loans at 5 times your income!! Oh well, I guess I must be getting too long in the tooth.

Anyway, I hope you all had a great Christmas & Hogmanay.
    Thanks for reading.
    Kind regards
    Jimmy.

Hey Jum Where Do You Come Frae,Lang May Your Lum Reek

I spent quite a few years in Scotland, being one of those horrible Yanks down in the Holy Loch. I liked it so much that I was there twice. Married a gal from Dennistoun in Glasgow. When I was first there natural gas was just coming into being down in the south of England being piped in from the North Sea most town/cities made their own gas from coal. Central heating was very rare for common folks, most people had coal fireplaces, where you broiled your front and your backside froze or small gas/electric heaters in each room. The first flat I had in Glasgow had a backboiler behind the fireplace in the kitchen which heated the water and stored it in a tank close to the ceiling. Until resently most british houses/flats, the only full pressure faucet was the cold water tap in the kitchen everything else was pressurized by a cold water tank up in a closet somewhere. Sure was a crazy system. Now nearly everyone has central heating most being a small boiler connected to panal radiators thruout the house. It was a real great place to live as a young man. Lots to see and do. Go back every couple years as have friends and family over there.
