SOLONOID VALVE ON STEAM

HAVE A CUSTOMER THAT INSTALLED 3- 11/2" ASCO SOLONOID VALVES OFF STEAM MAIN TO FEED 3 PIECES OF COPPER FIN TUBE.SOLONOIDS ARE DESIGNED FOR 5LBS PSI MINIMUM.BOILER OPERATES AT 5PSI BUT CUSTOMER SAYS HE GETS NO HEAT JUST HUMMING.THESE ARE ALL RUN OFF A TACO 3 ZONE ZONING RELAY.VALVES JUST HUM.ANY SUGGESTIONS?

    The minimum psi listed for the solenoid valves is minimum operating pressure differential, or in simpler terms the differential pressure required to overcome the internal spring on valve. Steam pressure would have to be over 5 psi on the inlet side and the outlet side would have to be at 0 psi. Depending on the type of steam system, this pressure may not be available..

    zone valves

    he needs honey well zone valves they dont need pressureto open them
