battery back up for ultra

Once I get moved into my house I plan to add up the power requirements and will probably add a properly sized UPS (Uninterruptable Power Supply). You can get different sizes from the computer market.
I am considering running all the circualtors as well but it will depend on the power reguirements. An external large battery may be the way to get a long running UPS. With that approach you would probably want to have an external charger.
If you just want to protect the boiler from bad power events, it may be best to use something (relay, signal from UPS) to stop the boiler from running. This will let it have power but not flatten the batteries too quickly. You cn use a much smaller UPS to do just this. Figure out how long you want it to last and size accordingly.

battery back up for an ultra
How to hook a battery back up for an ultra 105, when power goes out you need to man. reset a hard lock out. any help? thanks0 -
Ultra lockout
I think the problem is caused by a brownout situation when the power comes back on. This can be cured with a delay timer. Contact me and I'll get you more info.0 -
Check Grainger...
I have used ups back ups from them... 700 VA or greater.
Can be had for 500-1000 bucks. Use them more for isolation than actually holding the boiler up. As was stated, it's the brown outs or off-on cycling that flips out the hard laockout. If your power simply goes out and comes back on you will have no problem. Don't have a ups on mine at home and get the E04 code about once a year. Have installed the ups for places that I know that heat is critical or the people are willing to pay the extra....
