Need new coves
I recently renovated our 1959 quad level. One of the last things left is to replace the radiator covers. the pipe and fins are fine. I am having trouble finding ayone who sells or installs jus the covers. Looking for a reasonable solution. Suggestions?0 -
covers
Tim, it depends on who made the covers. Being that old, most likely they are not made any longer. Look for an emblem on the end covers. All suppliers sell what is known in the trade as "dummy", or enclosure only baseboard. You will have to find the closest in style and size. Take an end cover with you when you go shopping.

If you know the right people you could build some pleasing wood covers. Since tube convectors don't really rely on radiation some properly placed holes (at the top and bottom to allow air flow) would do the trick. I have done it before and they work and look great compared to old and/or repainted metal covers.0
