What a grand project to get involved with. Plus all the good you'll do by fixing it up to splendor, power, speed, silence and efficiency.
Please do post more pics, I'll be looking forward to them. Thanks for sharing.

Old hall
This building was built about 1920 or so, It was built for the wifes of some rich men who owned a big mill in ware mass. it was to help keep the busy doing something. it a thearter looking hall very nicly made, the owner Dan is renovating it for his home, has his work cut out for himself but when he's done i bet its going to be real nice. The boiler has no header , no hartford loop, it's a mess
a lot of near boiler piping and some return piping needs to be replaced, but you know i like a challange...keep ya posted...David

That ought to be a fun one, David
Seems like a nice spot and a treasure if properly treated. I trust you are keeping it steam? Will make a wonderful home- it seems right out of catalogs of the day.
Yup- Will eagerly await for updates! I know it will turn out well, better than I am sure they have known.

Looks like
you may have some chimney issues too, from the scorch marks on the front of the boiler. Or maybe the burner man was a knucklehead who wouldn't use instruments......

Were those pin rads ducted from OSA intakes? Saw that in an old church building. Great Deadmen technology. 100% OS air intakes from ground level ducted across pin radiators and up twenty feet to floor grilles at the balcony level.
I hope your guy has deep pockets. Residential conversions from a space like that usually cost more than new construction.

Hey Dave
You are coming into my work area now. I'm really suprised to see a service tag on that JOT. I'm willing to bet even with that low limit control it was turned off in the swummer. Hopefully your customer will take better care of what you install than the previous people did. This is a perfect picture for the argument of maintaining heat in an oil boiler. I have seen way too many of these.
