The people in that house have been replaced by replicants grown from pods. When their next electric bill comes, they will show no emotions...

Ya' think it's running on high head pressure?

I took this picture from a moving elevated train. Yes that's an air conditioning condenser under there. I first saw it about a month ago when it was only half covered. Somebody's going 13 seer before they planned.

    Clever

Pretty clever response there, Matt. That ivy is kind of "creepy"

    Show no emotions, Matt?

You mean they will be Swedes or WASPs like me? That explains it!

    Nightmares !!!

Reminds me of the scene in Stephen Kings Creepshow after he found what he thought was a meteor and turned completly into a plant. Anyone remember that movie ?? I still get scared when I see wooden crates, especially under stairs.

    all I know is

I pity the poor schlep who finally tries to service that poor thing.

After arduously climbing up on the hot roof, and breaking out the linesman pliers to cut the vines, he will watch with disbelief as the condenser tumbles down off the roof because the vines were the only thing holding it up there anymore.

It kind of looks like "Cousin It"........

    Ivy

We've got those beautiful ivy covered walls at Wrigley Field but you know, I've noticed more and more of it creeping around relatively new structures. I've often wondered if it's good or bad for brick and mortar. Common sense tells me not too good. It's gotta help solar gain thru a south facing wall tho.

Since I saw that stuff creeping on that condenser a while back I thought I might try to track down the address...but then...they'll find out soon enough. Cosmo, there is a pad structure under that unit. You'd be surprised hoe many I see precariously hanging off the sides of buildings in this urban environment. By the way, it's in the VERY upscale neighborhood of Lincoln Park.

    yeah

I have done "a few" myself

I had one I did that was ten feet up on a brick wall. Not fun, especially when you get all the way up there and drop a tool.......

    upscale neighborhood?

With the new-fangled tarpaper flaps for enhanced solar gain, and the designer plywood door from attic? I'm also impressed with how the house three to the left aligned its skylight with the smoking chimney on the house two to the left...

    Priorities

How much you wanna bet that if that satellite dish got ivy on it, it would be cleared off before the next beer commercial?
