It is recommended by heating equipment manufacturers that the circulating pump on hot water systems, be it baseboard or radiant PEX loops be installed just after the air vent /
expansion tank on the hot water supply side of the boiler rather than low on the return just prior to re-entering the boiler or heating source. Can you tell me approx. when this technology and recommendation was first recommended to the heating industry and plumbers / heating contractors? Dan Holohan authored and published Pumping Away April 1994. Wirsbo first published their Design Assistance Manual in March 1994 showing and telling of this technology. Can you please give me your thoughts and recommendations on this pump placement subject? Thank You Allan R Lawyer
