Condensate tanks

I have spent the last four weeks in a boiler room replacing all the return piping due to excessive oxygen corrossion problems. The custodian blew his boiler down as he should and the sytem had alot of leaks in the piping proper. The real problem was a very oversized condensate tank. The tank was one of the remaining fibreglass tanks we still have in existance. The tank was so huge the water feeder would feed water when it should not have because the 25 a Mac-d. was set in the at a postion too low to maintain a constant useable level in the tank. The amount of water returning from the system operation would always be on the low end of the tanks volume. The system killed itself; the piping for the boiler room was all rotted out from oxygen. One pipe had five pipe savers on it! I removed the old tank and piping and I have replaced the tank with a stainless steel tank of the correct size. All the return and pump piping as well as the pumps have been changed out. I use only schedule 80 and extra heavy fittings on condensate because of corrosion. I have taken a number of pictures of the job and I will be submitting them for everyone to have a look. I will send them after the pictures I have of the installation are processed
All the best and hug your kids and be careful of thier safety. We have had a horrible experience of a pervert having abducted two little boys and I can leave the rest to your imaginaton. The creep has been caught -- but the damage to the young people has been done. So, take extra care with the people your kids associate with. I can only imagine what thier parents are going through.

    Good news all the way

A pervert out of commission and a return system that has been fixed.

Good job on the stainless tank, it'll shine for ever. As far as piping is concerned, stainless pipe is quite nice, doesn't rust and is naturally enormously self insulating. Price wise, it certainly is not an abomination. We've done it with the most satisfaction.

Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.
