Flat expansion tanks?

Only manufacturer I know is an Italian company called Zilmet.
http://www.zilmet.it/eng/products/oempro/

They make them for boiler manufacturers, but I haven't found any one who sells them, other than as spare parts for specific boilers with ridiculous prices. I e-mailed Zilmet the last time I was looking for one and they didn't answer.

If a flat one fails in a boiler, it's common practice to replace it with a cheaper, external round tank.

    Where?

Does anyone know where I can purchase these. Flat wall mounted European style expansion tanks.

I could have used one on our most recent job and I'd use them more often.

    try

the Watts catalog I've seen them in their hydronics catalog (not Watts Radiant)I believe they are built at one of Watts plants in Italy.

Also Ipex has them on their pre built panels. They sent me one a while back. CIMM(Italy)

At ISH Boston there was a manufacture displaying flat rectangle and round tanks. I don't know if they ever got distribution set up.

They are fairly small capacity, 6 L. at least all the ones I have seen. You may need a few to get adequate capacity.

I'm also seeing them on some of the Euro import boilers.

    Zilmet information

We have two Zilmet tank sizes available: 18L and 24L. We import the tanks for use with our preassembled systems. They have mounting brackets welded to them so you can mount them against the wall.

You can check our Trophy Systems on ivar-na.com to view the tanks.

Let me know if you need any other information.
