DHW Recirculation With Viessmann Horizontal Indirect

it would restrict, but not stop gravity circulation depending on your piping. If the majority the hot water main is sloping up and the majority of the return is sloping back down to the indirect, my guess would be that it would work.

Just noticed the little comment in the manual about gravity recirculation being "restricted" due to the upwards curving hot water supply tube in the tank.

Looked inside. "Prevented" is a much better word than "restricted"!!! Bye-bye Newton!

Gotta dig that HX. No problem with heat transfer...

ALL of my 1" supply main slopes up and ALL of the ¾" return slopes down. ¼" per foot when "horizontal". Large towel warmer is the highest element by at least 5' and designed as my gravity "pump". Connection to towel warmer is about 21' above the supply connection to the indirect.

I'll try gravity first but I don't have high hopes...
