I just voided a dissertation that basically said what you did... in about 3 more paragraphs. Thank you. Chris

Feed and return tied in backwards.
Here's the debate. Old gravity system. New boiler installed with a circ. If you happened to tie in the feed and return in backwards would this cause any problems? Basically the flow through the piping and radiators is now reversed. Can anyone tell me if this is going to cause problems, and if so what problems?0 -
The ole OPPS!!!
Usually in a gravity system, the rads have the supply on the bottom, and the return on the top. The "heat rises" principle (and law) adhered to, no problem. Now someone wants to defy nature and make the hotter water fall. Depending upon the edr, & if the pump and near boiler piping is correct [any bets, anyone?] the circ. should be able to get the rads hot, in the reverse order. Ya best make sure there is a blending loop at the boiler return or you're in for a short lived boiler. bwdik?ijap0
