    Flame cuts out on boiler

I want to run some cleaner through my leaking wm HE 5 boiler prior to upgrading my system with an Ultra...however I can't seem to get the flame to stay on...the igniter comes on and a few seconds later the flames to the seven flue tubes light but then it cuts out after about 5 seconds, then the blower continues to operate, the igniter comes on again and then the flame lights up and stays on a little longer then cuts out again...I assume the leaking boiler from the heat exchange above the burner tubes has something to do with this condition since it's been leaking since Jan 15th...any suggestions on what may be wrong??...I'd like to run the cleaner through with heat for it to be more effective.

    CALL A PRO

...any suggestions on what may be wrong??... YOU NEED A NEW BOILER

no offense, but unless you are trained I do not believe that you should "play" with GAS

more than one homeowner is now playing harp because of it

And what's the point of trying to clean a leaking boiler?!? Be thankful it keeps shuting off--it's trying to tell you something!

    Jan 15th leak....?

Yea, it's time for a new one. Have a PRO install it as it will save you mega bucks in the long run. Do it right the first time and avoid the head ache of others mistakes. Bear in mind that the Ultra has!!!! to incorporate a primary/Secondary set up. Please do not do it yourself.
:-) I know you think that cleaning the existing piping will benefit your new boiler, but that is not the case as long as it's don't correctly. The Pro will Isolate and do as you ask without any effect to your new boiler. THE KEY is have it checked EVERY YEAR......... not every 10 years..... No Diss intended.
