we have a baxi 310fi that we were called into service. The problem is all the taps in the except the laundry sink will not turn the boiler on.Cust. needs to turn two taps on to get enough flow.Measured the flow and there getting approx. 1.3gpm thru each tap. They also have lived in the house for two years and this problem only started 2 weeks ago.Past service history for this 3 year old boiler is 2 diaphrams and 1 circuit board.

Thanks

    water quality

If they have gone through two diaghrams in three years, it sounds like they have iron or some other elements in the domestic water that is cruding up the diaghram that is located in the diverter. Also check the plunger that the diaghram pushes out to activate the micro switch that turns on the circulater in the dhw production mode, this could also be interupting the production unless there is a high enough flow to compensate for the restrictions.

no Dhw on the BAXI LUNA 310Fi

John, the infomation that Ron posted sounds right on.
The minimum flow needed to fire the boiler is 0.5 gpm, if you are measuring more than 1.0 gpm at the fixture and the diverter valve has not changed to the DHW position its a good bet the diaphragm has a pin hole in it. To loose 2 diaphragm's in 2 years is unusual, I think there must be a water quality issue here or maybe some contaminants in the water. When the previous diaphragms were changed was the housing cleaned?

If the diaphragm is in good condition another thing to check are the stainless pins that link the paddles in the diverter valve. If the heating system was not cleaned at the time of installation deposits can build up on these pins and impair their movement through the "O ring" seals. If this is the case the diverter valve can be removed and cleaned.

BTW, the electronic control boards are pretty reliable, did it actually require replacing?
