staple up with plates under hardwood

Has anyone had any problems with existing hardwood floors when retrofitting with staple up, any cracking, warping, cupping or excessive gaps? Short of installing a floor surface temperature sensor how can I make sure the temp doesn't exceed a certain setpoint. I plan on using Taco outdoor reset mixing valves, but how do i find what water temp creates the correct floor surface temp?
Thanks, Ed.
Thanks, Ed.

floor temp
It's all in the heat loss calcs, Ed. It's theonly way to get the numbers you are looking for. Rules of thumb don't apply and should never be used when dealing with hardwood, unless, of course, you want to own the floor.
