There is.

Google for "intumescent collars" or "intumescent sleeves".

Something like these;

    Run Pex thru iron pipe?

    Run the PEX thru a short piece of larger black (or galv) iron pipe thru the firewall and firecaulk the iron at the wall on both sides and the PEX to the iron at one end only?

    I'll have to run that one by the inspector. Of course, I think the guys already ran the Pex. I know there are sleeves made for electrical that has a foam in it that expands when exposed to heat. I was thinking there might be something like that for pex.

    Best of luck

    i had firewall issues at my new building; what a pain! if push comes to shove you may need to have an engineer sign off on it!

    pex and firewall

    I think Uponor aquapex is plenum rated by itself. It may not need to be sleeved. Although I think there is a minimum separation distance between two pieces of pex.

    Thanks Everyone

    I contacted the Pex manufacturer. They emailed me a cut sheet that shows the proper way to just use fire caulk and maintain the 2 hour rating. We'll present that to the inspector and go from there.

    Thanks again.
