Steam heating Problem

Sorry, I miss typed the BTU is 100,000.

I can see what i have for pictures that I can scan in.
The pressure is set to the lowest possible settings .5 & 1 on the pressuretrol. We recently replaced the pressuretrol to see if that was the problem.
The problem is… the system never cycles on and off… it runs until the thermostat tells it to shut off. Should it cycle?

Question: Does it matter where the pressuretrol is located? Ours is placed on the low water cutoff unit.

    Steam heating Problem

We have a single Pipe Steam heating system (Burnham Boiler 200,000BTU)… Our home is small about 1400SF (fully insulated). The problem we are having is it is taking a very long time for the house to get warm… The boiler can fire continually for an hour or more to bring the temperature from 67 to 69 degrees. Does this make sense?

We have had several HVAC techs come and change everything from the vents on the radiators to the mains in the basement. We have changed out the wet returns, had the burner completely rebuilt… you name it we tried it (other then change out the boiler).

We are going through 120 - 165 gallons of oil per month because the burner runs for an hour or more (several times per day)

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Regarding slow to heat up

first off, your boiler is way oversized for that size of house. 2nd, what pressure are you running at, can you post pics here of the boiler & near boiler piping and maybe some views of mains as they leave the boiler. How long does the boiler fire for before it cycles off at set pressure and then how long is off cycle? Just some pieces of the puzzle for all here to look at.
