so you gave the squeezer tool a go :) on small pipes it is pretty quick and things stay relatively straight...i see that you have another filter ahead of your tigerloop combo that looks vaguely like the ones that they send along with the Viessmann...

is there also an OSV hiding out over there? they are real system savers i think. well looks good :) what size squeezer heads did you get for the REMS Darin?

    Minimal Soldering

I could not entirely put away the torch but it was fast and easy using my Rems press tool to put this copper piping together. The Buderus G115, 2107 Logamatic, and the Riello burner with a Tiger Loop and Oventrop oil filter are all great equipment, what else can be said. A great step forward in fuel savings and ease of maintenance from the old 468 Weil that used to be there The H.O. does not have to wait for hot water now at the far end of the house. The Wilo Star pumps are whisper quiet. The Grundfos recirc pump does a nice job of moving hot water around and at the times the H.O. chooses. The Phase III was existing but I piped the boiler supply and returns to it in full one inch tubing (the previous contractor had piped it in 3/4" for whatever reason) and put the Taco thermostatic valve on the tank so I could run the indirect at 140' to prevent any Legionella growth and extend the hot water run time for filling the big soaker tub. I also did some nice duct work but alas that is not where my love lies!

I got the 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" copper heads and the 5/8" and 3/4" multicor or MLC heads. The filter ahead of the tigerloop is an Oventrop oil filter from Germany. How cold are you up in Alaska right now? We are about 50' in Upstate NY.

    A little of the pex

does look dirty ... its also looks neat and square, just like the rest of the job. Nice work Darren, those people now have system that will last them the next twenty years and help save fuel.

    Nice job.

    going green

I dig the Wilos; I ordered mine today. I must say I didn't "need" the Stratos, but the masterpiece will get one anyway. A man must have his toys.

  • Very nice job

All top notch equipment installed by a top notch mechanic . And attention to detail like the gauge on the hot pipe to set the temp , the all in one purge valves , a shutoff and drain valve for the expansion tank ..... you really do care about what you install .

    Nice work, as always.

The bad thing is I still carry in the torch, the pex expander, and the rems press tool. Can't forget the radio either.

Are you using the nibco press fittings from n+s. I have to say I'm not that impress, especially the valves, they took their regular nibco valves and soldered press ends on to them. Not only are they very long, but when you press them, the solder connections crackle. No leaks yet . Viega seems better to me, imo.
