Mega stor

What is your water like? Is it hard? If so, you might have a buildup of scale on the heat exchanger and or the temperature controller for the storage tank.

I have a Mega Stor 50 gal Indirect. The other day during a shower my wife noticed that the water wasn't staying as hot as it normally does. The system was installed two years ago. Is it possible that the loop from the boiler is clogging up? I have a infloor radiant system to heat the house and it appears to be working OK. If there is a possibility of it getting clogged how would I get it cleaned out?

    Thanks

We are on a municipal water system, forgot to mention that. It is pretty neutral I think. Anything to be done if scale is built up? I have had water heaters (gas)that took many years to exhibit this issue.

    the other day....

was this the day that is was near or below 0f? If there is a big load in the boiler it will draw capacity from the boilers ability to do both at the same time....kpc

Nah, it was last Saturday. I think the temp was around 38.

Doesn't that tank have an inspection

    port on the top?

If everything is fine on the boiler loop side, consider draining and inspecting for sediment or build up around the coils. Water hardness and TDS is what you want to check the incoming water for.

I think it does have an inspection port on the top. I'll give it a look.

    Thanks HotRod
