Not getting E mail notification of posts

Is it just me not getting notifications of updated posts on threads I post.

Dan has stated it is my security but I check the host sight and there is nothing there or in the spam files either on my outlook or comcast. I get Dans daily posts direct but that is that. I am having no other problems on any other discussion groups.

Found it in options

always happens I ask a question and find the answer right after it.

This can happen when you remove all the site-related cookies

to solve that other problem that arises occasionally. (where somehow names of posters get mixed up on each other's computers etc.) When you remove the 'forums invision' cookies, the options must get cleared too, so then you have to reset options or you can check the box on the 'post reply' to 'notify me by email about all msgs...etc' which I think stays checked once you do it the first time.

if you clicked the 'notify me etc' box in your last post

you should receive this one. If the 'notify me' box didn't appear, it may be that this will only work for new threads.
I seem to remember that once I discovered I was not receiving posts on a thread, I couldn't re-establish the notification on that particular thread.

Actually I just looked at options and I did not find anything about notifications, just other preferences. It's that notification box you have to click when you first post on a thread AND you have to make sure your email address is correct. Sometimes I've mistyped my own email address in thte post reply box when re-establishing notifications, and then had to correct that.

I had the same problem this evening

with getting my name chaged again. When I removed cookies I lost all options on the heatinghelp site. I am going to try with this posting and see if I get answers.

This is the fourth time this has happened to me recently.

oh well mitch; perhaps only thing to be done is clear forums.invision cookies, go to wall and start another test thread, click box and see if that works. this thread probably won't reset for you.
