about decorative grills such as <a href=" http://www.beaux-artes.com/products/arts_crafts_grilles.html"target="_blank">these</a>. Does anyone know of a source that might have better prices than that site? Thanks.

    Those are not

bad looking grilles and the prices are not that bad either, IMHO. Glad to have found them.

Reggio comes to mind but the castings are flatter and with less detail. I am not sure you would find grilles as nice as these at those prices.

Custom Radiator Covers by Barker Metalcraft will:

    Beautify your home
Protect your drapes, fabrics and walls
    Best quality
    Reliability
    Heat efficiency

Why should you contact Barker for your radiator cover and grille needs?
Barker Metalcraft has been manufacturing quality custom radiator covers and grille covers for over 30 years. We use only the best materials to make our quality products. For example, for our radiator covers and radiator enclosures we use 16 gauge steel for the tops, and 20-gauge for the main body. And we incorporate reflective backs to maximize the heat flow from your radiator enclosures. It costs us more money to do things this way, but it saves you money in the long run in heat efficiency (and you know how high heating costs have been the past few years!)

You will also be happier with the final product, which will beautify your home, and last a long time, unlike cheaper radiator covers that easily dent, sound "tinny" and look bad after a year-or-so of use.

If you have an unsightly radiator or vent, we can design a cover that will blend in with the d

    Dan,

I have these grills in my home for a/c returns. When I was looking, I didn't see anything of like quality for a better price. They are made of resin so I don't think they are appropriate for floor registers, but they look great elsewhere.

    Oh

Resin- I did not pick up on that. I would not use them for floor grilles then... Resin is not cheap but the price to value ratio just fell in my eyes.

    It's for an AC return.

And for a young couple of a tight budget. Thanks.

How about a local used house parts place?

Depending on where they are, many cities in the NE have used house parts stores. They are great places to find new homes for otherwise abandoned fittings and such.

    Craftsman style grills, etc.

    Hi Dan,
Go here: http://www.crafthome.com/products.htm , click on 'Heat Registers' and go crazy........There's way too many choices and many levels of quality and styles.

If you're into Craftsman style in general, this is the place to go.

    Regards,
    Howard
