May be rhetorical.
Why don't I offer or include a vaporstat on every residential steam boiler replacement I do either as an option or just install it and build it into the price?
Am I being stupid?
Cheap?
What do you do?

You`re not,
"stupid or cheap" John,,as you know some applications need them, some not. I would allow for it on all jobs anyway,,then you are covered.
Your rep is impeccable!

I like your thinking
The fact that you ask, John. If the delta is $100-$125 will that lose you the job? Of course the gauge to go with it to make it effective will add to that, so....
I would offer it as an option but sell it. Really sell it as effective tighter control, lower steam pressures, all the advantages we all know. I could not quantify a fuel savings off the top of my head but someone could do that.
Sure, a pressure-trol will do the job but if you do offer it and give them the option it shows your restraint and an additional tier of value.
My $0.02 anyway!0 -
Let's face it, Brad...
...I won't feel a $125 upgrade in the install.
It's worth that in free follow up tweakings, isn't it?
