Timkin Silent Heat?

Is this for a Timken rotary?
Or a later Shell head?

I know someone who has a Timken Rotary new in the box. Just have to coerce him to open it to get the info.

I'll check with my Dad. He has books on all that old stuff.

    Gas or oil?

We see a Timkin that's nat gas and uses a power pile valve. Called the silent heat.

    Venture over....

To Oil Tech Talk and ask over there.

Alan has a pretty extensive library, and some of the older techs will be able to tell you what you need to hear.

These behemoths were making the big exit as I was coming into the field 23 or so years ago. I worked on a few, but replaced many.I don't think they would run on the "cracked fuel" used today. As I recall, they really liked the old Kero, and worked as advertised...VERY quiet!Alas, all the accoutrement's needed to keep the Rotary burners going are long gone, or gathering dust on a Sid Harvey's shelf somewhere. Good luck. Chris

    Thanks Al and Dale

It is oil. I dont what type it is. It fell victim to a chimney fire over the weekend.
