connecting a dunkirk H W 80%boiler to old radiant system

My cousin Kenny is installing a hot water boiler (dunkirk 84%) to a old radiant system consisting of steel manifolds and mixing valves set to approx 140 degree supply temp. one loop is in a basement slab and other is in first floor ceilling. the system is very old and lots of steel in the system, He is going to just reconnect to the existing piping like to old one was. I tried to explain to him about thermal shocking the new boiler and cracking the block over time and he laughed at me. I have installed a lot of boilers to all types of radiation and always installed a thermal bypass or primary secondary or mixing 3 way or 4 way vavles on radiant or high steel loads(cast iron rads). I'm just looking out for my cousin to avoid a call back on his dime. He learned from the old school of Bruce(inside joke) please write me back so we all can show him the way. thanks Mikey Mac.
