    cast iron boiler repair

Is there an epoxy to patch a pinhole in a cast iron boiler, or what would be suggested????

You could attempt JB Weld. It will handle the heat, but I wouldn't have much hope for the repair to be very long-lasting. Clean the area VERY well before applying. Stiff wire brush followed by a wipe with a solvent like naptha.

Repair of Pinhole in Cast Iron

If it is truly a pinhole, it is common to "pean" the area to move the cast iron together to close the pinhole. If it is a crack, it is not repairable.

H.B. Smith, for example, has a factory technical bulletin for peaning a pinhole, often due to a defect due to sand from the mold process.

    It is worth a try.

    pinhole

If it is really a pin hole sharpen a pencil and tap it ino the hole with a channel locks on the flat. Lead pencil will expand and seal. graphite reacts with the water and iron and seals. Obviousy break the point off ans replace the jacket.

    It Depends...

One would have to see the actual crack to determine temporary repairs.
