base board over warm floor

on my load caulc. I assumed new windows and insulation in the walls. So now I am about 4000 btu short. I cant put in a small fan coil because the ceiling is vaulted and the room is the top floor of a three story home. So I can make up the difference with base board along one wall but I don't think it will work as well with the floor being warm. I would think that would keep it from convecting. I would assume that the same thing would happen with a radiator.

short btu's
Raise water temps? What is your control scheme? 4000 isn't much - Maybe double-check your design temp/degree days, you might be OK.0 -
cant go any higher
I raised the running temp as high as I feel ok with. The floor is getting as hot as 85deg and that really high for hardwood.0 -

You're right that 85 is pretty warm for hardwood or anything else for that matter. Have you considered panel radiators? They work well at lower temps and it might just be what you need. You didn't mention what you put in for a boiler and I'm just curious. Is the space not keeping up now or are you just trying to make sure it will? Good luck. Let us know what you end up doing.

7.5 model I needed something that would go outside. I wont do it again though getting enough water through that thing takes a mean pump. I have read alot of posts about on demands dieing early as boilers. Its been running for about eight months now. They call when it gets cold and its fine in temporate weather. This is northern california and January first was 68deg out at 2pmso they don't want to kill me yet. After figuring out the pump thing I thought I had it beat but I did a load caulc again and found out how far off I am. Not much but its enough.0 -

From your last post I assume you may have some piping issues. Using a "mean pump"? are you sure it's piped correctly, pics may help to solve the problem.... Still not sure why small convector unit would not work for back up heat. By the way i agree that the 85 temp is very high0 -
When I say mean pump
I am refering to the primary circ. that fights the head through the tankless. 5 GPM is 25 feet of head. I will be meeting with the customer tommorow to talk about adding raidiators0
