I tried to adjust the valve to control the flow to one of my radiators and it started to leak. Are ther any ways to fix the valve myself? They are guite old.

There is a nut under the valve handle you can try tightening LIGHTLY to stop the leak. If that doesnt work Its possible to re-pack the valve stem with teflon packing material. Im not sure of your technical ability, but if you have to re-pack it I would advise a professional to avoid a flood. There was an error rendering this rich post.

Thanks Norm. I was advised that by someone else also. I have a pan under it now catching the water so I think I will wait till Wed. to try to tighten the nut when plumbers are back to regular hours. Thanks again and Merry Christmas to all.0
