Radiator spewing stream of water and steam

We are in a rental and when the heat goes on, one of our radiators spews water and steam from the torpedo-looking thing on top of the radiator. So much so that my husband had to put a towel on the radiator to not drench the floor. What can we do?

Spewing Rad
It sounds like your system is over filled with water for some reason. Is this radiator on a lower floor. You need to look at your sight-glass on the boiler and look for a waterline, if you can't see one it's probablly full.Get your landlord on the phone so he can grt a pro in there to look at it tomarrow nobody is going to want to come out tues.0
