tekmar 256

I've installed a tekmar 256 set for fin tube heating, my question is when this unit goes into WWSD does the low limit temp drop to ambient or does it still maintain a minimum temp?
My aquastat allows for cold start application, my guess is that it does not maintain a minimum.

thanks

The wwsd feature on all tekmar contols does not allow any heating to occur. It all depends on how you hav wired the system controls. You have not specified what control is doin the boiler. If you have an Aquastat, for example, wired to the boiler control to maintain a setpoint temperature, then the 256 could be overridden. In that case what's the point of installing the control at all?
The purpose of WWSD is to disable the heating system when the outdoor temperature is ABOVE that value....usually around 65 degrees F

Sorry...I forgot to mention.... The WWSD is based upon outdoor air temperature ONLY. It is important because other factors may affect this value and how it affects the building. The default value that comes with the control is usually sufficient.

Cold start application is how it's wired, I saw that the control had a minimum and thought that WWSD could possibly maintain the LL
