low water box leak

I had a brand new Buderus (oil fired) boiler installed 3 yrs ago for my hot water loop system. I noticed a very slow leak from the actual low water cut-off box which sits just above the temp and pressure gauge. When I removed the cover I could see the drip coming from behind a wing-nut with a small rubber seal where the temp sensor connects with main return. I slowly tightened the wing nut just a little, but it still leaks. There's some rust throughout the box and I can't tell if any of the wire connections have been affected. What's the standard procedure I should expect a professional to recommend?

Replace the control
and see if the system is over-pressurizing somehow.
