  • Moon Sand...

The kid in NYC I'm buying for wants this Moonsand Castle thing. Moonsand is moldable, reusable gooey sand stuff. So I check out the comments on the Castle and it's mentioned there isn't enough moonsand. Ok, no biggie, I'll get her some extra sand. Looking around I find a kit for 2 - 1/2 lb containers. $35!!! Everywhere. Ouchie! There's also a smaller kit for $7.97 but it's much less sand, I can't recall the figure. So I look around some more, lo and behold I find the 2- 1/2 lb containers for $7.97. This must be a mistake in my favor! I order one. It's only available in blue and white so I figured I'd buy her one of the smaller ones too so she could have a little more color. I get my $7.97 for 1 lb a few days later, not a hitch. Saturday the other order comes in for the smaller $7.97 kit. IT'S 2- 1/2 lb CONTAINERS!! Santa works in mysterious ways himself... :)

    Our version of moonsand was

Asbestos! My brother and I used to make and mold our bunkers for the little green army men out of it....Dad didn't mind, cause he always had a busted bag or two of it...Oh well!
  • I'm saying

through some miracle or another the kid is going to get ~$70 worth of moonsand that I only paid $20 for. She was going to get the puny extra sand kits because I couldn't afford to buy the big ones but, for some unknown reason, I ended up with the big ones for the small price. I'm blaming Santa.

I can remember as a small child making a game out of breaking up the asbestos shingles off the side of the house and playing with the chunks, making them even smaller. Does that count? Yes, I got into a world of trouble for it too.

I am with you, Mark ;)

I hear you loudly and clearly.. (If I said "loud and clear", I would hear from my Susan or her Mom :)

Got my packages shipped earlier this week in plenty of time. Man, does that feel good. Threw in some extras too; you could never find all that the tykes asked for. Best Christmas shopping time I ever had.
