SNOW !!!

It is actually a skid steer with a bucket. But I love playing with it. Moves lots of snow, lots of dirt. Use it to move ceramic molds, and anything else I can think of. Ruthe

and more snow
almost 6 inches already this AM on top of the 12 from last Thursday. That's enough already.Thank heavens for my tractor with bucket and for my 17 y.o. grandson. I made great piles of snow yesterday to make room for this one. And it is 14 degrees out. But I will take New England over anywhere else. At least we are in for a very white Christmas. Stay warm!! Doesn't.....
Santa deliver to decorated palm trees too? Just thinkin'...Chris0 -
Nice thought
Now it is ice pellets coming down. My back deck where we partied in July is under 2 1/2 to 3 feet of snow. Have fun shoveling.0 -
When I was stationed
When I was stationed in Hawaii a decorated palm tree just didn't cut it. Christmas lost something that year.

aww come on
You have to love this stuff!! Try a 250 foot long driveway..I know it's out there somewhere!! and to think, only 7" so far and it's supposed to go all day!! Gotta love it!! I still miss the day's we'd get 3 or 4 feet..0 -
the dreadful mixed precip
My first post here...in too much awe of the masters here on this site to post something regarding heat. Now snow...I can confidently post an opinion.
I wish it was snow. We are currently mired in the Mixed Precipitation weather pattern.(Barrington, Rhode Island) 3o degrees and not snowing...defying laws of meteorology? Freezing rain, sleet...blechh, waiting for the no heat call...I know it's coming....probably at Patriots kick-off. Happy Holidays everyone.0 -
freezing rain
Welcome aboard Jimmy! We've gotten much the same as you have here in Iowa. We were on the edge of the big ice storm that hit the midwest this past week. My wife called on her way home one night last week to say it was raining. I said it can't be, the thermometer says it's 15 degrees outside! How can that be! She was having trouble seeing out the windshield, the defroster couldn't keep up! So far we've had more ice than snow. Beautiful but awfully hard on the trees and powerlines, and not too easy to shovel!
I have family that lives in arizona. They hang christmas lights on the cactus in thier front yard! I'm ready to move! Anybody looking for a hot water guy in AZ! ;-)0 -
Hey Tom....
At 100LBS a shovelful, you can have it! Come on down and pick it up...No charge. Chris0 -
Here in Bethel CT we had 2" to 3" of something that was more like sugar than snow. TV was calling it stuff. Under that was frozen, stuff. Even a pain with the snow blower. Now it's freezing mist.
Yuck

snow melt
While were on the subject of snow, any thoughts on which high eff. condensing boilers work nicely with a snow melt system? Recently did an install and we are trying to figure which boiler will work best0 -
no no no
I like it to fall nice and natural...and then push it out of my way with the plow truck!! And let's be honest, who use's a shovel???0 -
Early Christmas present
Got about eight inches in metro Detroit. It looks like it will stick around for Christmas -- just what the doctor (and Santa) ordered. Ooooh my aching back.0 -
Christmas snow
Ok Ok. Enough!! All you folks wishing for a white Christmas....you can stop now!!! At this rate we will have a white Easter too. I remember a day last summer that was so nice I said it was worth putting up with the winters. Now I'm not so sure.

I had trouble with my snowblower
took the carberator apart and flushed it out with some cleaner. After I found the needle valve that fell out on the gargae floor and figured out where it went ... she worked like a charm.
Snowblowers are the second best gift a wife can give a husband.

gifts?
I've been married so long I can't remember what the first best gift is anymore! Whoa there, talk about getting off topic! Sorry!!!!0 -
490 Ft !!!
mine is about 490FT, used to be 800ft then I shortened it.
now seems snowblowing is quick!0 -
I\"ll take my tractor
with the big bucket on front. Moves lots of snow real quick. Ruthe0 -
Mind out of the GUTTER , Rich....
I believe the #1 gift he's speaking of is CHILDREN!!! Right?
Back on topic....Scott told me this morning that he heard the weather person saying that this slop would be turning to rain in the next hour....and cleared not only his driveway...but 1/2 the neighborhood too!(What a Guy!!)
Me...I got my car out of the driveway and to the freshly plowed municipal lot a couple doors down, to give the plow guy a chance....He didn't show, and the resulting ice would rip all the ground effects clean off the Vibe,if I tried to pull in tonight! Why take the chance of wrecking all that EXPENSIVE plastic? Chris0 -
ruthe
I sure which I had a front end loader i might go back to the 800ft drive then.0 -
Hey Chris

If not careful.
There you go Scott! And of course that can lead to that OTHER great gift Chris is talking about, children!
Today is the first day in over a week it's supposed to get above freezing, maybe we can finally get rid of some of the ice we've been accmulating here in the midwest over the past several weeks! I haven't even attempted clearing my drive, it's frozen solid! Approx. 200' of gravel covered in alternating layers of ice and snow. Anybody looking to hire a wet head in Arizona!
Happy Holidays all, Rich L0
