    The other night at a local bar a guy I know who had a few too many, waited a little too long for a drink, and he used the politically incorrect phrase, what am I black? We all looked at a very nice lady, who hangs around there and happens to be an African- American, she raised her eyebrows and the guy apologized. Then he tried to get out of it by saying O.K. what am I green, then everyone looked at me and the guy apologized to me. It was pretty cool. Bob Gagnon

    I just listened...

    ... to a young friend on the radio, being interviewed about her "Green Team" at high school. Their theme is "If not now, when?" Seems she takes a lot of flak from fellow students who don't appreciate her activism. That surprised me. Kermit was right!

    Resistance to green/low energy

    It's like you just insulted their mothers sometimes. I've actually had a professional HVAC engineer declare that I was full of beans by stating that radiant heat exchange operates at the speed of light. I guess he missed the Heat Transfer 201 class, and still thinks that "heat rises".

    The resistance is due, in my opinion, to fear. Fear of risk, fear of the unknown, fear of thinking outside the box of the safe, comfortable "that's the way we've always done it" mentalities.
