Hey Scott......

...so I don't know.

What did it say?

I try not to be TOO much of a homer, but I've been a die hard Steelers fan since I knew what a football was. I thinnk the biggest problem most Pitt fans have is the way that New England has pretty much owned them this century. Two AFCCG losses to them leaves a pretty sour taste, one that won't go away until we reverse the trend.

Most folks probably latched on to the spy-gate thingy and said "yeah! that's the only reason they beat us!!" Brady, though, apparently made a comment after the 2004 (I think) championship game after totally annhilalating us that "it's easy to pass the test when you know that answers." or something to that effect. The inferrence is that the cheating was taking place back then.

Whether it was or wasn't, to me, really doesn't matter - Pitt stunk up the field in that game, as they did last night. Talent and proper coaching should have been enough to overcome any "stolen" signals. Many fans, though, will latch onto any excuse they can for their teams poor performance.

I'll get this out of the way now......

....your patriots were the real deal yesterday. They were the better team, and it showed.

I thought after the first half that the steelers were gonna hang tough, but that thought quickly faded. Props to your team.

I guess Anthony Smith learned a lesson ... you don't tease the Pats !! :)

The Pats played like the team that started the season. Our last two games where tough and the Ravens should have beaten us but they broke down.

Don't hang your head down to low John, we are watching a Great Team in action. Brady throws like a lazor beam and some can't even be caught.

    My guess......

....is that Mr. Smith will think twice before EVER talking to a reporter again!!! IMO, the press really blew his comments out of proportion, but it served as motivation for the pats nonetheless. They obviously went after him big time, and were quite successful.

can you shed any light on the banner that was flown across the stadium?

Do most Pittsburg fans believe the only way the Pats can and did win is by cheating?

At least you show great spirit and are obviously not in that camp.

13/0 and counting but in the end it's still just a game.

    I didn't

either, Scott. It must be #4.

Reminds me of the story of Brad Park entering Heaven and seeing someone skating with a hockey stick. He asked St. Peter "who is that".

To which St. Peter answered "oh, it's God. He thinks he's Bobby Orr."

Bobby revolutionized hockey and has proven to be quite a humanitarian to boot.

My apology to JB if it isn't #4 but it still brought back the memories.

    :-)

    An Orr story...

Just finished reading Phil Esposito's autobiography (talk about an interesting read!). Phil tells about how Don Cherry and Bobby came to his hotel room to tell him he'd been traded.

Phil: "I know I've been traded, but whatever you do, don't tell me I've been traded to the %$^%$ Rangers. If it's the Rangers, I swear I'll jump out that window!"

Cherry, to Orr: "Bobby, open the window."

    Orr The King

Did you notice that the Goalie equipment looks like catcher's gear compared to the pads of today? I'll bet a puck to the facemask hurt back then...

    Hey Rick...

The goalie mask didn't come into fashion until the late 60's/early 70's.

Gump Worsley, Minnesota North Stars,(a REAL team!) was the last holdout, and played without one until almost the mid 70's.

Bruins goalie Gerry Cheevers was the one who started the "stitch marks" in places where the puck left marks. My doctor has a photo in one of his rooms of the 68/69 Bruins in relax mode, in the locker room. He is only a year older than me...but was amazed when I named the whole bunch, players, coaches and trainers! Chris GO B's

    That WAS sport! Chris

    There also

Was a lot less cheap shots & high sticking (except Ted Lindsey & Dave Shultz and a few others) The difference in pad width is incredible. Does the equipment today cheapen the accomplishments of Ken Dryden, Bernie Parent, Cheevers, Rogie Vachon (one of my favorites) etc.? Look at Martin Brodeur's Pads...
