Radiator water volume

I have never seen a chart giving this information (doesnt' mean they don't exist) but the only true way to measure your system's volume is to drain it down into a barrel (s) and measure it. Then you should dump out the proper amount for your intended mix and PRE MIX your solution and then pump it back into the system. It's the only way to make sure of a proper mix throughout the entire system to make sure all the water gets mixed. I've seen too many systems where A/F was just pumped in and never mixed properly. Sizing the piping and boiler content can be chore as well.
Good luck.

Good evening heating guru's, changed a way old single pipe steam system over to a new hot water circulating system and now need to add antifreeze. Anyone know where I can find a chart showing volume in relation to the size and shape of my radiators? Most of them are 5 tube radiators 19" tall, varying with 16 to 45 sections. I also have two radiators that are still 5 tubes but 32 and 37 1/2" tall respectively. System works great with a new Lochinvar Knight boiler, purrs along like a kitten and uses a fraction of the gas from last year. Great product! Thanks for the help and have a great upcoming Christmas!
