    I'm looking for

a visual flow indicator for a solar hot water system. The customers 500 gallon storage tank has several loops running from it for heating and hot water. I would like the customer to have a visual indicator so they can easily monitor whether the circulator is on or not. What is available and where do I go to find it. Thanks for any advice. WW

    Watts FlowGuard

I have been using the Watts-Radiant FlowGuard Flow-setter. It's a visual flow indicator that you can also adjust from 1-13gpm.

I have 1 left on my shelf if you have any problems locating one. It is 1" IPS, but they also make it in 3/4" and a .5-4gpm model.

Attached is their hydronic catalog and page 4.

    Blue White

    www.bluwhite.com

Is a very common flowmeter used in the solar industry for many years. It has a much larger sight area then many of the radiant meters.

Fairly affordable, be sure to select the proper style for your temperature range.

You'll need very clean fluid or they become impossible to see into.

Could try Omega Engineering for in-line flowmeters.

There are paddle wheel and spinning ball type qualitative/ungraduated indicators too, see Dwyer Instruments
