Pigtail pointed the wrong way

With a standard pressuretrol it really doesn't matter. Only with the mercury vials should you be concerned which way the pig is pointing......

My pigtail is facing the wrong way per Dan's book. The donut hole is visible straight on when looking at the pressuretrol. Doesn't look like I have enough space to turn it around, but I _could_ spin the pressuretrol around. I'm assuming it should be fine to do that instead, but wanted to see what everyone else thinks.

if I spin the perssuretrol around to the right, then the pigtail will be behind it, rather than to the side... workable solution?

    Best Practice

Is to have the pigtail opening invisible when facing the controller as you note. The reason being that any left to right coil tipping will affect the mercury switch position regardless of actual pressure sensed. (You probably know this, just stating for record.)

That said, yes you could turn the control but so long as you have access to adjust it and can see the control effectively.

I am not sure if a non-mercury device has this "fore and aft" requirement because there is no mercury to tip, but am eager to hear. For the time being, I am staying with the traditional. That way no one can criticize it!
