SPITTING STEAM VENT

I am having trouble with a steam vent spitting some water.
It is a cast iron radiant/convector style, I removed the radiator to check for sludge build up and was suprized to find hardly anything. The inlet to the radiator is baffled (you can't see straight into it). The radiator is located in a room over a garage, and has it's supply in the wall. It is a 1.25" take off piping. This is a single pipe 2 story residential boiler. The running pressure has been adjusted to cut in at .5 psig, and cut out ay 1.5 psig. the style vent that has been used is a heat timer varivent. The other radiators are working ok, and the radiator is pitched slightly to the inlet. Any insite to this style of radiatior, or what to focus my attention on. thanks.

    spitting vent

-try changing the radiator vent or
-checking the wet return pipe for blockage
-is the boiler water clean to prevent surging?
-if this is a chronic condition perhaps your boiler is making "wet steam" due to improper near boiler piping (less likely tht the first three causes).
