Ever hear of Squick...and what are your thoughts on it?

I was told to add this to my system to avoid the banging...I never had banging (well only at the beginning of the season at start-up), then I had a new boiler installed and I can't sleep at night the banging is deafening and happens everytime my system calls for heat..
I was told less water in the system and add this chemical called squick. (my system is probally 60+ years old.)And it was also recommended to put new adjustable valves on the radiators to distribute heat throughout the home better.
Am I getting the proper information.

Probably not.

Did you say all was well until your new boiler was installed?
I would look closely at the installation.
