Ah, Anchorage in February....
You really know how to live, Dan. Are you running the Heatditarod?"If you do not know the answer, say, "I do not know the answer", and you will be correct!"
-Ernie White, my Dad0 -
You beat me to it!
Dan, is TLM joining you?
You will have the beaches all to yourselves.
I recommend SPF -30.
Have a great time!!

Bring a flashlight!
Today the sunrise was at 10:11 AM with sunset at 3:40 pm.Not much time to sunbathe. Should have about 1 1/2 hours more in February.

Anchorage is not Alaska
Dan, come on up to Fairbanks in mid-February...now THAT'S Alaska! You won't go from plane to car to hotel to car to plane...you just say, "Fuggiddaboutit, I'm not even getting off the plane!" We here in Fairbanks consider ourselves REAL Alaskans, not the pseudo-metropolitan wannabes from "Los Anchorage". Of course, Anchorage-ites consider us to be back-woods arctic hillbillies, populating a "blue-tarp" city known as "Bearflanks" . (Just poking a little fun here at my coastal brethern).
By the way, didn't I see you and TLM in Cranston R.I. last Thursday, Dec. 13th in the lobby of a hotel getting a cup of joe? I thought it was you but didn't say anything as we have never met face to face. Didn't want to accost you out of the blue. Who knows what self-defense training you may have had in your life;).
Warm regards from chilly (-38 right now) Bearflanks, AK

Yes,
that was us and I wish you would have said hello. We were up visiting our friends at Viessmann the day before. What were you doing in in RI?
And you're scaring me with the weather report.Retired and loving it.0 -
Don't worry Dan
It's a dry cold.
Once hypothermia sets in, you will feel MUCH better.

Was in R.I. for Taco
The good folks at Taco, John Barba, Dave Sweet, Doug, Bob, John White Jr. etal invited me and others to come on over and confab with them for a while. They had several contractors from around the country come in for what I would call a "focus group" or Contractor's Trade Council. Got to me several folks from the Wall here, ie: Paul R. with Biggerstaff Radiant, Jeff aka "HeatBoy", and several other top notch contractors. Met with the staff at Taco for about two days to discuss products, training, new product development etc. Was VERY interesting. We were all staying at the hotel where I saw you. Next time I'll say "Howdy".
And relax, like I said, Fairbanks is not Anchorage. The weather system that brings -38 to Fairbanks only brings about 0 to Anchorage.
Regards,
Rocky0 -
Even Fairbanks is Mild -
compared to the folks a bit north east of that - well OK - how 'bout straight north of Winnipeg. OK a lot north ... (350 Km inside the Arctic Circle)
But Dan - the days are so short! This pic is both sunrise and sunset - taken a few weeks back. (-32C plus wind)0 -
Dan, while in Seattle
Dan, if you would rather skip the Hotel, I live 5 or so minutes from downtown and you would be welcome to stay at our house while in Town. We could also make arrangements to pick you up at the airport, we are pretty flexible. Tim PS: never short of good food and good wine.0 -
Thanks, Tim.
We're on a tight schedule this time, but I sure do appreciate the invitation.Retired and loving it.0 -
I visited there a month or so ago.
I also thought that what they showed me was very intersting. I'm glad you had fun.Retired and loving it.0 -
I am really looking forward to you coming Dan. I have always wanted to attend one of your seminars. I also think some of my guys that have never seen old systems are going to learn a TON!
Wish I could go to Wetstock in a big way but we have a baby due that week!
