direct venting 20 year old valiant

Just recently was called in to try to re vent a older 180 input 150 out valiant gas fired hot water boiler. Promblem being the location of the boiler in respect to where it would terminate ,To me it's a no brainer the unit cannot be direct vent because there is no clear shot and the it would not follow the manafactures installation requirements because the dis charge would run about 6 ft exposed outdoors under a porch before the vent dis charge hood .As i interpurt the installation instruction i see nothing showing this type of installation .Am i off base and what are your thoughts on re locating the boiler to another area of the basement to vent it correctly .Remenber this is a 20 or so year old boiler that is way over sized also and is showing some signs of flue gas condensation ,already the chimmey is in bad shape it has no liner clay or chimmey liner and is slated to be removed .I am going to proposing replacement with a munchkin either 1 -80 and 1 -50 or just 1 140 and remove a older wiel mclean that does a rental and run the whole place off the 140 ,quick heat lose that i did came up with about 87btu but that may be a little tight for a m80 thanks for insight peace and good luck clammy

    Regarding replacement

Clammy, look at the Triangle Tube Solo110, great little boiler for this app. Reasonably price but I feel it's a great little boiler. Beyond replacement, I am not sure what you mean by a problem w/ direct venting existing. I think I understand you want to power vent this cast iron atmospheric boiler? is that right. If so, there is no problem w/ doing that. Put the power venter outside at termination and run insulated vent pipe to it? Tim

    more info

a stainless steel insert liner is out of the picture they want to remove the chimmey ,what they want to do is mount the fan indoors as usually but they want to extend the outlet of the power venter about 6ft under a deck and then have the termation hood according to the installation manual they state no more then a 2 foot extension of b vent can be used .If installed as the HO thinks is right would require about 7 feet of b vent and about 5 ft of it would be exposed to tyhe outdoor before the termation hood .I personally think it 's a bit hooky at best peace and good luck clammy
