    From Bio Energy Corp

Ran into this orange hose today. 3/8" nominal.

Is it barrier hose like Onix ?

"System" is 12 years old and ready to be scrapped because of all the rust inside. A 1" iron pipe w/ a 5/8" hole thru the middle. Circs w/ 1/2" of rust in the inlet/outlet. Fourth exp tank. CI boiler w/ 3/4" of buildup on the bottom, had to remove the drain to get the water out at all.

So screwed up and spaced out I can't even get pics to describe it...... Obviously the guy was over his head.

Any help is, as always, appreciated.

    Thanks

That explains the degree of corrosion I'm seeing. 1800 ft is a LOT of surface area......

    Bio-tubing

kpc is correct = No O2 Barrier. I ran into it earlier this year on a boiler replacement. My experience was Red tubing made by Bio-Tech/Bio-Radiant, etc.

CI boiler, circs, expansion tank, etc. all failed prematurely. Dirty system overall. Used Rhomar products to clean and flush.

Options: HX or all non-ferrous components...

It made if the same thing that protects your potato chips....

Aluminum mylar. A metallic O2 barrier is the best.

    Yuck !

Did some flushing of the system today.

Some of the supply side hoses had 2-3 ft of clay-like buildup in them. Pretty bad when 30# only produces a drip....
  • which version is that Richard...

Entran 3 was produced with an EVOH barrier, and Onix has an aluminum mylar barrier. Which one are you seeing signs in, and what kind of signs are you seeing?

    Curious minds want to know...

    Onix

Onix is the one that i and others up here in the Rockies have seen Pre mature failures of glycols/Expansion tanks/Circ Pumps/Boilers Unlaoding Cast iron into Systems. But there is'nt anything Wrong with This Product!??.
