some mechanics know how to work with copper , some don't know how to work with anything. just saw a residential boiler i installed about thirty years ago with a two inch copper header & it looks the same as when i put it in. and guess what ......it still don't leak & it still works. haven't done one like that since i saw the lite many years ago but they can actually work. now i am a drop header junkie ....all steel , of course. live & learn. bob

Steam boiler leaking due to pro press above water line
I got a call today for 2 leaking steam boilers at the same house. The home owner said the boilers were installed last winter. Both boilers were leaking from the near boiler piping. The first boiler was piped with copper dwv pipe and fittings above the water line with one fitting being a "ty". The second boiler was piped with propress above the water line (leaking like crazy). You never know what you are going to find at some of these jobs.
