Wasn't me, but here's my take on the system-wide protection scenario.

  • Who's looking for me? Dual use Water heaters and as Boilers

    Hey there!

Been busy as a one armed paper hanger. 3 girls to keep up with and chill water power plants to sell. Wanna' buy 2? I can offer a buy one get one for the same price as the first opportunity!

Anyhoo, my question for this week is if the water heater needs to be maintained above 133 to kill Legionella, what do we do to keep all the hot water piping down stream of the water heater above 133? Is it that the slime that resides in all piping is not sufficient to promote bacterial growth?.

With effiencies of standard gas and oil fired water heaters terrible at 120, why raise them to 133F. What is 133F on a water heater thermostat that says, A,B,C,D??

    This makes me smile.

Ideally for the safest possible operation,..

140 in the water heater with DHW constant circ loop with point of use mixers.

The nasties can really live in the constant circ condition especially when they are thrown into the 140 tank.

I think that is the ideal

There was an error rendering this rich post.
