Mon-flo tee leaks

What is the age of this home? Is it from the 1950's? Is it connected to convectors or baseboard? Is there a bleeder directly above? As a guess, I think you may have a bleeder screw that at one time was leaking.

Mon-flo tee leaks
Home I looked at yesterday had several down-flow mon-flo tees with evidence (mineral clusters) at the downflow branch. What is mechanism that is causing this (other than ageing?).
Thanks
Tony

Home was built
in 1910. Originally had steam. Not sure when conversion to hot water was performed. Mon-flo tees have a patent number in the 1,600,000 range, whichis fairly far back (1940's). The home now has a ca. 1975 electric boiler
