my boiler was flooded this past summer. this year when i started the system i had crazy water hammer. now after draining the system, and angling my radiators most of the noise is gone. however, one radiator on the second floor (right on top of the boiler) does not get hot. the air valve pants, and the radiator stays cold. i felt the pipe leading up to it. in the basement the bottom of it is hot, but on top where it meets this radiator it is cold.

trap
You might have a Hor. run with a sag and a water trap. Is there an offset between the Bsmt riser location and the Rad?0
