Weil Mclain/Utica high efficency boilers

Any recommedations on brand for a high efficiency boiler? I am looking to convert from oil, and also build an addition of ~2100sq feet on top of the 1100sq ft now. In total ~3200sq ft house. I have done a little research and would like to consider Weil Mclain or even Utica. Also I gather that if the boiler modulates that is a good thing. Can anyone help me out. Thanks

I have installed many of the Weil Ultra's and am very impressed with the unit.....you won't go wrong with a Weil.

Why Not

Why not look at an efficient oil boiler? In my area oil is much easier to get service on than gas and there are enough companies to find one you are comfortable with rather than being locked into a utility. Prices vary from year to year so oil being higher right now will change as the last few years it has been cheaper than gas. There is a falacy that gas needs no service, it produces a flame, it has danger and needs professional eyes to look it over periodically to be sure it is running safely. Lastly it can be argued one fuel is safer than the other, one spills, the other blows up. I am an oil guy but as far as I am concerned every fuel has it's dangers and they all have to be treated with respect.
