Trinity with buffer tank?

and what are the loads of the zones. How frequently does the smallest load(s) run?

And the biggest question is how often you care to hear the boiler cycle.

Here is a 135K output boiler with a 1000K load on a 50 gallon buffer.

With this program you can enter and change the data to see how the buffer ould change the run cycle. if you know the lowest firing output and smallest load I could plug it in for you and show the buffered and un-buffered difference.

    Are there any benefits

to using a buffer tank with a Trinity (actually a Smith GT-150)? What applications would benefit, and what would not? Trinity and Smith IOM's currently do not show buffer's or hydraulic separators. A multi-temp system requiring a medium (plated joist) and low (basement slab) temp setup. IOM's of both simply show P/S. DHW in parallel with the boiler, since the Sentry 2100 prioritizes DHW. O.K. So, setting the control to the design temp for the medium temp, and sub-mixing for the slab zone, and let'er rip.

What do I need a buffer for?

    TIA

Depends on your lowest load. The 150 modulates to 25K Gross. If your smallest load is close then you should be okay.

    Agree?
