Will munchkins work with radiators

Fire your plumber, and find another more qualified installer. Munchkins & Mod/Con Boilers thrive on high mass system, such as radiant & older gravity convert systems with cast iron radiators. The more cold water you can slug back on the return the more efficient it will run. Make sure your new installer follows the installation instructions to the letter, and it'll run like a champ.
Good luck!

Will munchkins work with radiators
I have a 146 year old victorian house with 7 radiators downstairs and fairly new baseboard heating upstairs. A plumber told me that Munchkins are not made to work with radiators. Is there any truth to that?
Thanks in advance,

I hope so
We have installed over 50 Munchkins of various sizes in high temperature applications. All have outdoor reset and priority DHW. Works fine, just make sure your installer is capable of interpreting and following the installation manual.
Just because you have installed the right parts doesnt necessarily mean they are installed correctly. Primary/secondary is a must, venting location needs to be checked and double checked, and keeping the boiler elevated makes running the condensate drain easier.
Oh, and don't forget the neutralizer. I can't tell you how many condensing boilers I've seen without it.
Good luck,

Don't fire your plumber........
send them here & we'll gladly enlighten them.
If you install a modulating condensing boiler in a home with standing cast iron rads, you'll be delighted with the increased level of comfort outdoor reset will give and you'll really like the fuel savings.
We have installed quite a few in both older and newer homes using cast iron radiators or baseboard, set them up on a full outdoor reset curve. 30% fuel reduction (on average) and the owners love the new 'feel'.
As mentioned above, a strainer is a must-have. The outdoor reset will allow the mod-con to remain within condensing temps for most of the heating season, which enhances efficiency.
I've also seen a few Munchkins installed without the Vision-1 control, under similar circumstances, while running it at a flat 180F. Kinda like taking a Corvette and running it with a cinder-block on its gas pedal while using the ignition-key to start/stop!0 -
If there are piping errors, how can I work with my contractor to get the job done right. He thinks he is done, and he wants final payment? I live in a suburb north of Boston. Are there consultants that will work for someone like me. The plumbing inspector says his job is to determine whether the permits were pulled and the job is safe. He said, "You may have trouble understanding this, but I do not enforce whether the job is correctly or efficiently."0
